We begin this sweet tale in an English castle. Ahh. Gigi and her fiance Gideon are busy preparing to open the family home to the public.
It’s all things quaint and romantic with a touch of elegance. I loved reading about Badgley Hall and thought it would make an ideal getaway.
Is it real? Can I visit?
For the past four months, Gigi hid from her life and responsibilities. Because, you see, she was waiting for a vicious media storm of drama and intrigue to pass.
Gigi was the victim of a scandalous photograph that went viral. It was with a former flame who just happened to be one of New York’s hottest commodities.
Unfortunately for Gigi, she must return to New York to fulfil a commitment. This also means she must deal with her past.
My one issue
Despite knowing Love You S’More was the THIRD in author Beth Merlin’s campfire series, at some point I forgot. I was confused every time summer camp was referenced once Gigi returned to her friends and family in New York.
I wondered, “Why is everyone so obsessed with summer camp?” (As if I’m any better.) I also couldn’t connect the S’more reference in title.
But it makes complete sense when you look at it as a whole, and eventually I put the pieces together.
The majority of the story doesn’t require you to have read the first two in the series.
Although it would give you more context into just why Gigi is so freaked out to return to New York. It will also put you better in touch with just how much drama there is in her life.
Love You S’More is a great little read about facing your past, telling the truth and pursuing your future with courage. If you’re looking for some clean romantic comedy, this will be your jam.
